Marie Celestin // Founding Director
Marie serves on various non-profit boards such as Youth on Board, the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus, WomenIn and the National Youth Action Council. Prior to her current role, she worked with local youth on a variety of programs on leadership development, life skills and political activism. Along with over ten years of experience working with adolescent girls in the Greater Boston area, she has extensive experience in workshop facilitation, media education, program/event planning and curriculum development.

Jessica
Jessica has been a member of the GIRLS Project since 9th grade. She has planned several GIRLS conferences and often hosts Girl TV with other members. She is a proud participant and continues to recruit others to join this great and fun organization. She is also the webmaster of this site.

Cindy
Cindy is a high school student. She likes to read, write, sing, and stare in any medium. She volunteers at the Samaritans of Boston and is the president of the Chinese Culture and Language Society. She hopes to have new members join her and the other outstanding young women in project.

Zi Xiu
Zi Xiu is a high school student. An unique fact about her is that she has a twin who got bitten by a rattlesnake when she was younger. She is a devout Buddhist and cherishes her family. She is an aspiring psychologist and hopes to lead in humanitarian causes.

Zi Wen
Zi Wen (Zi Xiu's twin) describes herself as the more sensible and quieter twin. She enjoys running, drawing, reading, traveling, watching movies, and just "chillaxing." She also loves learning because she sees it as a way to grow mentally and understand the world around her. In the future, she wants to combine her love of science and of helping others and become a doctor.

Athena
Atheena is in high school and has many interests. She speaks French and enjoys hanging out with her friends. She is active in several student groups at school.

Tammy
Tammy is an avid aficionado of Japanese culture. She is the newest member of the project and volunteers at Sanmaritans with Cindy. Tammy joined the project because of her interest in girl issues (and the refreshments provided at the meetings).
